Maratha Protest : HC Orders Mumbai Streets Cleared as Maratha Agitation Enters Crucial Phase

Mumbai | September 2, 2025 –Maratha Protest: A pivotal day for the Maratha reservation agitation: the Bombay High Court has mandated that all occupied streets across Mumbai be cleared by noon today to restore normalcy, especially as Ganesh festival celebrations begin.

Authorities have warned activists, led by Manoj Jarange Patil, that failure to comply could invite enforcement action across the city.

Educational institutions near Azad Maidan remain affected. Select schools and colleges—including Cathedral & John Connon, JB Petit, Bharda College, and St. Xavier’s—continue with online classes to avoid disruption. Institutions in less affected areas plan to reopen shortly.
