Mumbai, August 4, 2025 – In a major boost for India’s high-speed infrastructure, Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed today that the upcoming Mumbai–Ahmedabad bullet train will cover the route in just 127 minutes (~2 hours 7 mins), slashing journey time by hours compared to current travel options.

Addressing the media in Mumbai, the Minister said the project is in its final stages of construction, with trial runs expected soon and commercial operations slated to begin by end‑2025 or early 2026 at the latest.

The bullet train will connect major stations including Mumbai, Thane, Virar, Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, and Ahmedabad. With seamless boarding and advanced infrastructure, it is poised to transform intercity travel between Maharashtra and Gujarat.
