Mumbai Weather Update: Rains Reduce, Traffic Jams and Train Delays Continue

Mumbai Weather Update : Mumbai Rains Ease, But Traffic and Train Delays Continue

Mumbai: After three consecutive days of heavy rainfall, the intensity of showers reduced across most parts of the city on Thursday. However, several areas are still reeling under traffic snarls, waterlogged stretches, and delayed suburban train services.

According to civic officials, waterlogging has significantly reduced in low-lying pockets like Sion, Kurla, and Andheri, but heavy vehicles and peak-hour traffic caused congestion on the Western and Eastern Express Highways. BEST buses were diverted on a few routes due to partially flooded roads.

Local train services on Central and Western lines were running, but with delays ranging from 10–15 minutes, inconveniencing thousands of commuters. Harbour line services remained stable, though overcrowding was reported at major junctions like Kurla and Wadala.

Weather experts have predicted light to moderate showers in the coming days, with no major alerts issued for Mumbai as of now.

The BMC has urged citizens to check weather updates before stepping out and avoid waterlogged areas to prevent accidents.
