In fact, the Government doesn’t restrict the sale of sex toys in Mumbai, but they have fixed some conditions. For example, trading sex toys in the offline market is illegal and also punishable. Likewise, sex toys should be delivered with discreet packaging as per obscenity law.  

Sex toys contribute approximately 0.007% to the Indian GDP. It is expected that the market size of sex toys will be 21,912 crore in 2030. This achievement was so gigantic that the Indian Government had to reform and liberalize its legal policies, such as the obscenity law. “Notwithstanding the ambiguity of the law structure, Govt gives a hint to sell/purchase discreetly without harming the social norms”, Venkatesh Tripathi also said.

In the very recent time, 2024-2025, the marketing policy of sex toys has been slightly changed. Sex toys in India are no longer vulgar.
