THE KERALA STORY BOX OFFICE COLLECTION

Amid all the controversies surrounding The Kerala Story, the film released on May 5. Even after several controversies, its box office performance remained unaffected. On May 16, The Kerala Story managed to surpass Rs 150 crore (nett) in theatres. And now, it is all set to enter the Rs 200 crore club. As per the early trade estimates, the film showed considerable growth on Day 17, May 21. It reportedly minted Rs 11 crore at the box office. Hence, the total collection of The Kerala Story now stands at Rs 198.47 crore. It had an overall 37.29 percent occupancy in Hindi on May 21.

Adah Sharma’s portrayal of a Hindu woman from Kerala is the focus of The Kerala Story. She is transferred to Syria where she is coerced into converting to Islam and forced to join the terrorist group ISIS. There, she suffers torment. The movie is produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and directed by Sudipto Sen. Since the trailer’s release, The Kerala Story has been under scrutiny.
