Ahmedabad [India], September 8: Bollywood actor Nora Fatehi has landed in a legal controversy after an aviation company filed a ₹3 crore civil defamation suit against her, alleging that comments she made about one of its chartered aircraft caused reputational damage and affected its business.

The case has been filed by Dunes Aviation before a court in Gandhinagar. The matter is scheduled to come up before Senior Civil Judge R Agarwal on September 25. The company claims that Nora’s social media remarks, in which she described its aircraft as a “miniature”, “toy” and “Lego airplane”, resulted in cancellations and a significant decline in bookings.

What Did Nora Fatehi Say About the Aircraft?

According to details mentioned in the civil suit, Nora Fatehi recorded videos while travelling on a Cessna Citation CJ2 aircraft during a Mumbai-Jaipur flight in December last year.

The actor later shared the videos on her Instagram account, where she has a following of more than 4.6 crore people. In the videos, she reportedly commented on the size and appearance of the aircraft, referring to it as a “miniature”, a “toy” and a “Lego airplane”.

While the comments appeared to be related to her personal experience during the journey, Dunes Aviation has alleged that the remarks went beyond casual criticism and negatively affected the company’s public image.

Aviation Company Claims Business Was Hit

Dunes Aviation has alleged that Nora’s comments were widely viewed because of her large social media following and subsequently affected its commercial operations.

According to the company’s claims, it experienced a 15–20 per cent decline in bookings, along with an increase in cancellations following the controversy.

The company has described the actor’s statements as “reckless” and “irresponsible”, arguing that they were made without adequate technical knowledge or verification of the aircraft’s specifications. Dunes Aviation has claimed that the comments resulted in reputational harm, loss of goodwill and an adverse impact on its business.

However, these are allegations made by the aviation company in its lawsuit and have not been established as facts by a court.

Company Says Aircraft Was Fully Certified

One of the key points raised by Dunes Aviation is that the aircraft in question was not unsafe or unsuitable for the journey.

The company has stated that the Cessna Citation CJ2 was a standard aircraft and appropriately sized for the Mumbai-Jaipur trip. It further claimed that the aircraft was DGCA-certified, airworthy and being operated legally under a valid Non-Scheduled Operator’s Permit (NSOP).

The company appears to be using these details to counter the impression that may have been created by Nora’s remarks about the aircraft being unusually small or resembling a toy.

Dunes Aviation Seeks ₹3 Crore in Damages

Apart from seeking ₹3 crore in damages, Dunes Aviation has also asked the court to direct the removal of social media content containing the alleged remarks or references to the aircraft.

The company has additionally sought a public clarification from Nora Fatehi regarding the comments.

The suit was reportedly filed in April 2026, while the court is now scheduled to hear the matter on September 25.

Why the Case Has Drawn Attention

The dispute highlights the growing legal and commercial impact that celebrity comments on social media can have on businesses.

Nora Fatehi has a substantial online following, and Dunes Aviation’s argument is that comments from a celebrity with millions of followers can potentially influence public perception of a company or service.

The aviation firm’s case specifically links the alleged drop in bookings and cancellations to the actor’s remarks. Whether the company can establish that connection and prove the extent of financial and reputational damage will ultimately be a matter for the court to consider.

For now, the case remains a civil defamation dispute, and no final finding has been made against Nora Fatehi.

The matter is expected to come up before the Gandhinagar court on September 25, where the legal proceedings will determine how the allegations and claims made by the aviation company are dealt with.
