As the technology sector braces for economic headwinds, Google revealed earlier this year that it will be laying off 12,000 employees, or around 6% of its workforce.

Business Insider reported that employees were informed that the company’s micro kitchens – which offer staff members free snacks like cereal, espresso, and seltzer water – will be shut on days that typically have a significantly lower volume based on a memo from chief financial officer Ruth Porat to Googlers.
The article also stated that the corporation will not allocate funds towards purchasing equipment like laptops and that the benefits will vary depending on the demands and trends seen in each working space.
