In the Miss Himalaya contest organized by Dr. Mahesh Yadav( Aman Gandhi ) producer/Director of Aman Gandhi Film Productions in New Delhi, Assam’s Miss Chinmoyee Das emerged victorious. In the same event, Himali’s Avantika Rana clinched the Miss Teen Himalaya title.
The theme of the competition was the freedom of Tibet. All participants were asked questions about Tibet and Dr. Mahesh Yadav talked about why it is crucial for India and the entire world to save Tibet for the protection of global security, humanity, and the environment.
The show’s Chief Guest, Acharya Yeshi (former Deputy Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament), discussed the Tibet issue in depth. In his speech, he emphasized that shows should not promote vulgarity or revealing clothing, as these do not enhance women’s dignity or promote art and culture.
The jury members included international model and Miss Glory of Universe 2014 Miss Metok, Mrs. Suparna De Thakur, Sardar Sukhinder Singh.
Chinmoyee Das: A Rising Star
The Miss Himalaya 2024 beauty pageant, held recently in New Delhi, showcased the talent and beauty of the Himalayan region. The event culminated with the crowning of various titleholders, with Kamrup’s Chinmoyee Das bagging the prestigious title of Miss Himalaya. Chinmoyee has a commendable background in beauty pageants, having nurtured her passion since her college days. She is recognized as the former calendar girl of Lotighoti and has won numerous titles, including the Nagaon Best Skin title, Miss Assam Best Personality of HeritageAssam Festival, and Brahmaputra Miss North East Best Personality. Her impressive achievements also include being a top 5 finalist in Miss Assam. Recently, she was crowned Miss Bharat Assam.
Apart from her modeling career, Chinmoyee is pursuing a PhD in Media and Communication. She is actively involved in social and environmental activism. She has also appeared in several music videos, showcasing her versatility as a model and artist. Her journey exemplifies a blend of beauty, talent, and dedication to make a positive impact on society. She proudly dedicated her crown to her late father, Binoy Das, for giving her the wings to soar in the sky, and to her mother for believing in her abilities. This dedication underscores the influence and support of fathers, symbolizing the empowerment they provide that enables their children to achieve their goals.
