Chennai [India], October 22: Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has delivered an impressive box-office performance during its opening week, with the action thriller reportedly collecting ₹582.45 crore in worldwide gross revenue within seven days of its theatrical release. The film has also crossed the ₹300 crore mark in India net collections, strengthening its position among the major box-office performers of 2026.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the sequel brings Rajinikanth back as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. Released in theatres on October 15, 2026, the film has attracted audiences across Tamil, Telugu and Hindi markets, while its strong opening-week performance has kept it in the spotlight.
Jailer 2 Day 7 Box Office Collection
On Wednesday, October 21, Jailer 2 reportedly collected ₹28.15 crore in India net revenue. With this addition, its total domestic net collection reached approximately ₹317.20 crore by the end of its seventh day, according to trade estimates.
The film had opened strongly with an estimated ₹59.70 crore on its first day. It continued its run over the following days, collecting ₹37.10 crore on Day 2, ₹47.25 crore on Day 3 and ₹55.85 crore on Day 4. The film then earned an estimated ₹42.35 crore on Day 5 and ₹46.80 crore on Day 6.
Although the seventh-day collection was lower than Tuesday’s figure, the film maintained a substantial overall total during its first week. Weekday drops are common after a strong opening period, and its performance over the coming weekend will be important in determining how quickly it approaches its next box-office milestone.
Worldwide Collection Reaches ₹582 Crore
The film’s reported worldwide gross collection has reached ₹582.45 crore, including its domestic and overseas earnings. This puts the sequel within reach of the ₹600 crore worldwide milestone, although its pace in the coming days will determine when it crosses that mark.
Its multi-language release has helped expand its reach beyond the Tamil-speaking audience. The film’s domestic performance across Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions has contributed to its overall earnings, with the Tamil version remaining a major contributor.
These figures are based on industry tracking estimates and may differ across box-office reporting platforms. They should not be treated as officially audited figures unless confirmed by the film’s producers.
Rajinikanth Returns as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian
In Jailer 2, Rajinikanth reprises his role as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, following the success of the 2023 film Jailer. Nelson Dilipkumar returns as director, while Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music.
The ensemble cast includes Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Mithun Chakraborty and S. J. Suryah, among others. The combination of Rajinikanth’s screen presence, an established franchise and a multi-star cast has helped generate considerable interest in the sequel.
With its first-week worldwide gross approaching ₹600 crore, Jailer 2 now faces the challenge of sustaining its momentum through the second weekend. Its upcoming daily collections will provide a clearer picture of its long-term box-office potential.
