According to local commuters, traffic on Eastern Express Highway and Western Express Highway was moving at a snail’s pace due to waterlogged stretches. Public transport also bore the brunt, with BEST buses delayed and several diverted from their regular routes.

Local train services, considered the lifeline of Mumbai, were affected as well. Central and Harbour line trains experienced delays of up to 20–25 minutes, while Western Railway reported slow movement due to water on tracks in low-lying areas.

In Mumbra, the situation was particularly challenging, with knee-deep water reported in residential areas and main market roads. Residents struggled to commute, and shopkeepers were forced to shut down early due to flooding.

Authorities have deployed additional pumping machines to clear out the waterlogged areas. Civic officials have urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and use local updates before stepping out.

With the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting more showers over the next 24 hours, Mumbaikars are bracing themselves for further disruptions.
