According to officials, Metro Line 2A (Dahisar to DN Nagar) and Line 7 (Dahisar East to Andheri East) have already brought relief to Western suburbs, and now, focus has shifted towards the upcoming corridors.

🚇 Key Expansions:

  • Metro Line 4 (Wadala to Kasarvadavali, Thane): Work is progressing rapidly and once completed, will directly connect Central Mumbai with Thane.
  • Metro Line 9 (Dahisar to Mira-Bhayandar): Expected to ease congestion for the growing population in Mira-Bhayandar region.
  • Metro Line 2B (DN Nagar to Mandale, Mankhurd): Will provide a crucial East-West link.
  • Metro Line 10 & 11 (Dahisar–Mira Road & Wadala–CSMT): Planned to extend coverage to more densely populated areas.

Authorities have also confirmed that once all the ongoing projects are completed, Mumbai’s metro network will stretch over 300 km, making it one of the largest urban metro systems in India.

For daily commuters, this expansion means reduced travel time, less road traffic, and a greener alternative to private transport. Officials have assured that most of the priority corridors will become operational in phases from 2025 onwards.

With the city struggling with increasing traffic congestion and pollution, the Metro expansion is being seen as a game-changer that will redefine Mumbai’s travel experience.
