In a major cybercrime crackdown, Navi Mumbai Police have arrested two individuals involved in a massive ₹65 lakh online gaming fraud, exposing yet another sophisticated digital scam targeting unsuspecting investors.

The accused — both aged 26 — were arrested on March 24 by the Navi Mumbai Cyber Police after a detailed investigation into the case.

How the Fraud Worked

According to police officials, the victim was lured into investing through a fake online gaming platform called “SAT Sports.”

The platform appeared highly professional and projected itself as a legitimate gaming company.

Victims were encouraged to:

  • Invest in games like Teen Patti and Casino
  • Trust the platform through fake profit dashboards
  • Gradually increase investment amounts

Over time, the victim was shown false profits, building confidence before being pushed to invest larger sums.

Between January 2023 and February 2026, the victim ended up losing a staggering ₹65.16 lakh.

International Link Under Probe

Police investigations have revealed a possible international cyber fraud network behind the operation.

  • SIM cards were procured in India
  • Activated for associates based in Dubai
  • Used to operate the scam remotely

Officials suspect a larger syndicate may be involved and are currently tracking the money trail and foreign connections.

Insider Angle Raises Concerns

One of the accused is reportedly employed with a leading securities firm, raising serious concerns about:

  • Misuse of financial systems
  • Possible insider involvement
  • Wider network of facilitators

Authorities are now investigating whether more individuals are linked to the fraud.

Red Flags Citizens Should Not Ignore

Cybercrime officials have highlighted key warning signs:

  • Platforms promising guaranteed high returns
  • Professional-looking apps with fake profit data
  • Initial small withdrawals to build trust
  • Pressure to invest larger amounts quickly

Experts stress that no legitimate platform guarantees fixed profits, especially in gaming or investment sectors.

Police Advisory

Authorities have urged citizens to:

  • Verify platforms before investing
  • Avoid unknown gaming or trading apps
  • Report fraud immediately via Cyber Crime Portal or helpline 1930

Early reporting can help prevent further losses and assist in tracking cybercriminal networks.

Navi Mumbai Police

This case highlights how cyber fraudsters are evolving — using gaming platforms, fake dashboards, and international networks to trap victims.

As digital investments grow, so does the need for awareness.

The message is simple:
👉 If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
