The series, described as Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s dream project, will take storytelling to new heights. It will also feature some of the country’s top talent. After much anticipation, the streaming platform has finally released the first look from the series, and fans are ecstatic.
On Monday, the Netflix India official account shared a teaser featuring Manisha Koirala looking stunning in a royal ensemble, followed by similar smiling glimpses of the rest of the cast. It revealed the royal, graceful looks of the film’s actresses Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chaddha, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Shaikh.
“Sanjay Leela Bhansali invites you to a world where courtesans were Queens,” the text accompanying the video said.” Meanwhile, the post’s caption read, “We can’t wait to be a part of another time, another era, and another magical world created by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Here’s a peek into the lovely and intriguing world of #Heeramandi. “Stay tuned!”
Fans who had been waiting for the teaser were ecstatic and mesmerised by this surprise. “Woooowww!” wrote one of them. “Aditi and Sanjeeda’s intense expressions describing the story!!” said another. “The rest of the actresses on one side and Manisha Koirala on the other,” someone else said. She took the trailer (with heart emojis).” “Can’t wait any longer!!” said one fan. Actor Gurfateh Pirzada added, “This looks (fire emojis)”.
A source close to Bollywood Hungama revealed more details about the Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Huma Qureshi, and Manisha Koirala starrer series, saying, “The series is being shot on huge sets representing a sprawling kotha. The shoot is taking longer than anticipated. Sequences that were supposed to be shot in one day are now taking up to three days. Netflix is aware of the Bhansali magic. They are completely dedicated to the project.”
Heeramandi’s plot revolves around the lives of courtesans during the pre-independence period. The eight-episode series stars a slew of Bollywood’s most famous actresses.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s most recent film, Gangubai Kathiawadi, starred Alia Bhatt in a biographical crime drama. Not only did the film receive critical acclaim, but it also became the fifth highest-grossing film of 2022. The film also starred Ajay Devgn, Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, Seema Pahwa, Varun Kapoor, and Jim Sarbh in addition to Alia Bhatt.
