Mumbai [India], September 18: Popular Marathi singer and songwriter Sanju Rathod has released his much-awaited new song ‘Pahije’, bringing a fresh musical treat for listeners during the Ganeshotsav season. The song, released on September 16, features Rathod alongside Sa Re Ga Ma Pa fame singer Juilee Joglekar, while actress and dancer Saumya Kamble also appears in the music video.
‘Pahije’ arrives at a time when Sanju Rathod continues to enjoy strong popularity among Marathi music listeners. Known for songs such as Gulabi Sadi, Lal Bangdi, Sheki and Navari Sadi, Rathod has developed a distinct style that blends contemporary sounds with Marathi lyrics and energetic music videos.
For ‘Pahije’, Rathod has once again taken charge of the creative side of the song. He has written and sung the track, while G-SPXRK has handled the music production. Juilee Joglekar joins Rathod on vocals, giving the song a contrasting female voice and adding another dimension to the track.
The song revolves around romance, fun and the little wishes shared between a couple. Its upbeat presentation and dance-oriented treatment give it the feel of a festive Marathi pop number. The official video also features Sanju Rathod, Juilee Joglekar and Saumya Kamble, with the performers bringing an energetic visual style to the track.
Juilee Joglekar’s involvement has been one of the highlights surrounding the song. The singer, who gained recognition through Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, has taken on a different look for the video. Loksatta noted that her appearance has attracted attention from viewers, with many listeners commenting on her energetic and different screen presence.
The official music video was released through Hyundai Spotlight Season 4, which brings established and emerging artists together for original music collaborations. ‘Pahije’ marks the opening track of the fourth season, with the platform continuing its focus on collaborations across different musical styles and languages.
The song had already created curiosity before its release. A teaser was released on September 15, one day before the full music video arrived. The teaser described the track as a song about love, small wishes and enjoying the fun moments of a relationship.
Following the release, the music video began receiving attention on YouTube, with listeners leaving comments praising Rathod’s latest track and the collaboration with Juilee. Reactions highlighted the energetic presentation, the chemistry between the performers and the song’s catchy Marathi flavour.
‘Pahije’ also continues Sanju Rathod’s recent run of music that has connected strongly with younger Marathi audiences. His earlier songs have become popular beyond Maharashtra as well, helping Marathi-language music find wider audiences through social media, short-video platforms and streaming services.
Rathod’s own journey is also different from that of many traditionally trained musicians. Born in Dhanwad village in Jalgaon, he studied mechanical engineering and did not come from a family with a professional musical background. According to Loksatta, he also did not receive formal music training, but continued developing his interest in music and eventually built a career as a singer, songwriter and performer.
The release of ‘Pahije’ comes during Ganeshotsav, making its festive timing particularly relevant for Marathi audiences. With its romantic theme, energetic music and colourful visual presentation, the song is positioned as a light-hearted celebration track rather than a serious or traditional devotional release.
For Juilee Joglekar, the collaboration also adds another contemporary Marathi-pop track to her growing body of work, while Sanju Rathod gets another opportunity to experiment with a different vocal pairing and visual style.
The song is now available across major music platforms, including Amazon Music, where it is listed as a new release by Sanju Rathod, Juilee Joglekar and G-SPXRK.
With ‘Pahije’ now out, attention will be on how the song performs across YouTube, music-streaming platforms and social media in the coming days. Given Rathod’s established audience and Juilee Joglekar’s participation, the track has already generated considerable interest among Marathi music fans.
