Kashi Cosmos has officially launched in Varanasi, marking the beginning of a first-of-its-kind public astronomy initiative in Kashi. With the vision of making astronomy accessible, engaging, and educational, the initiative aims to bring people closer to the universe through guided telescope observations, astronomy education, and immersive skywatching experiences.
Set against the iconic ghats of Varanasi, Kashi Cosmos offers visitors, pilgrims, students, families, and tourists the opportunity to observe the Moon, planets, stars, and other celestial wonders through professional telescopes while learning the science behind what they see.
Beyond public skywatching, Kashi Cosmos is committed to promoting scientific temper and experiential learning through a wide range of educational initiatives. The organization will conduct astronomy workshops for schools and colleges, organize campus outreach programs, facilitate guided astronomy tours, host public observing sessions, and collaborate with educational institutions to make space science more accessible to students of all ages.
The initiative also seeks to revive Varanasi’s historic association with astronomy and scientific inquiry by transforming the city’s ghats into spaces where culture, heritage, education, and the universe come together.
