The regional rounds of Band-It 2025, India’s largest inter-school performing arts competition, concluded successfully across the country, bringing together thousands of young performers in a vibrant celebration of talent, creativity, and confidence. With enthusiastic participation from students and schools nationwide, the event reaffirmed the growing importance of performing arts in holistic education.
Conducted across 11 major cities — Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Madurai, Pune, Mumbai, Chennai, Nagpur, Noida, Hyderabad, and Udaipur — Band-It 2025 witnessed participation from over 400 schools and more than 5,000 student performers. Each regional round transformed into a high-energy showcase, reflecting the diversity and depth of India’s emerging student talent.
The stages came alive with an impressive range of performances, including powerful vocal acts, technically accomplished instrumental showcases, energetic dance routines, and expressive speech and drama presentations. Beyond competition, the regional rounds encouraged teamwork, discipline, and artistic expression, offering students a professionally curated platform to build confidence and stage presence.
A Platform Rooted in Legacy and Purpose
Band-It is an initiative of Furtados School of Music (FSM), an institution with a legacy spanning over 160 years in India’s music and performing arts education landscape. Founded in 1865, Furtados has grown from a single heritage music store into a nationwide leader in music education, performance platforms, and digital learning solutions.
Originally launched as a music competition, Band-It has evolved into a comprehensive inter-school performing arts festival, expanding to include Dance and Speech & Drama alongside vocal and instrumental music. This growth reflects FSM’s belief that every child deserves a stage to explore and express their creative potential.
Strengthening Impact Through Global Schools Group Partnership
The 2025 edition of Band-It marked a significant milestone with Global Schools Group (GSG) joining as the Official Partner. As one of the world’s leading education networks with over 60 schools across 11 countries, GSG’s involvement helped expand the reach and influence of the competition across India.
Several GSG institutions, including Witty International, Glendale, and Global Indian International School (GIIS), also served as Venue Partners, providing state-of-the-art auditoriums and campuses. Their support ensured a high-quality experience for students, parents, and educators, reinforcing GSG’s commitment to holistic education that balances academics with arts and experiential learning.
Visionary Leadership and Enduring Support
The continued growth of Band-It is guided by the leadership of Dharini Upadhyaya and Tanuja Gomes, Co-CEOs and Co-Founders of Furtados School of Music. Their vision of integrating structured learning with meaningful performance opportunities has shaped Band-It into a nationally recognised platform for young performers.
The initiative is further strengthened by the support of Anthony Gomes and Joseph Gomes, who carry forward the Furtados legacy and ensure the platform’s sustained growth, quality, and national reach.
As Band-It 2025 moves closer to its Grand Finale, the regional rounds stand as a powerful testament to the confidence, creativity, and potential of India’s young performers. Band-It continues to celebrate not just artistic excellence, but the dreams and aspirations of the stars of tomorrow.
