Mukesh Choudhary, a pitcher for the Chennai Super Kings, has been disqualified from the IPL 2023 season before the team’s opening game against the Gujarat Titans on Saturday.
CSK has not yet announced a successor. It is believed that Choudhary is attending the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru to recuperate from a back injury.
In 13 games, the 26-year-old took 16 wickets, including a best of 4/46 at an economy of 9.32. Nevertheless, Choudhary hasn’t participated in a competitive match since Maharashtra’s Vijay Hazare Trophy final versus Saurashtra on December 2, 2022.
Kyle Jamieson, an all-arounder for CSK, had previously been injured. Sisanda Magala, an all-rounder from South Africa, was brought in to take his place.
