Mumbai [India], October 24: The Marathi crime thriller Dashami, directed by Yogesh Bhosale, has arrived in theatres on October 23, 2026. Featuring Gauri Ingawale, Makarand Anaspure, Mahesh Manjrekar and Ravi Prakash in prominent roles, the film explores a young woman’s fight for justice against violence, corruption and powerful individuals.
The film revolves around a young woman who suffers a brutal assault and finds herself confronting a justice system affected by corruption. Refusing to remain silent, she begins a difficult struggle to reclaim her dignity, with her family standing beside her. As the story unfolds, a series of murders draws police investigators into a complicated case involving hidden truths and powerful interests.
The narrative combines crime, suspense and social commentary, examining the consequences of injustice and the determination of individuals who refuse to surrender in the face of adversity. The film also connects its central theme with the symbolic victory of good over evil associated with Vijayadashami.
Gauri Ingawale portrays Laxmi Desai, while Makarand Anaspure plays her father, Prabhakar Desai. Their on-screen father-daughter pairing brings an emotional dimension to the story. The two actors previously appeared together in De Dhakka 2.
Telugu actor Ravi Prakash makes his Marathi cinema debut with Dashami, portraying police officer Asif Mujavar, who investigates the murder cases. The actor reportedly made efforts to learn Marathi for the role. Mahesh Manjrekar, Vijay Nikam, Devendra Gaikwad, Prasanna Ketkar and Sheetal Ahirrao are also part of the ensemble cast.
The film is directed by Yogesh Bhosale, with Suresh Pandit credited for the story and other creative contributions. Vikas Onkar Singh handled the cinematography, Vinay Shinde edited the film and Avi Lohar composed the background score.
Dashami has a runtime of approximately 2 hours and 19 minutes and carries an A certificate. The film combines action, crime and drama, with its investigation-driven storyline aimed at viewers who enjoy suspenseful narratives addressing serious social issues.
Following its theatrical release, the film has begun receiving audience responses and critical reviews. While its subject matter and performances have attracted attention, reactions to the storytelling have been mixed. Reliable opening-weekend box-office figures are not yet available, making it too early to assess its commercial performance.
With its focus on justice, family relationships and the consequences of institutional corruption, Dashami adds another socially driven crime thriller to Marathi cinema’s 2026 release calendar.
