Dr.Huruangpiyang Panmei is a young inspirational figure originally hailing from Chaengdai village, residing in New Jalukie, Nagaland. He is a full time musician, a well regarded music educator and a professional Drums player. He was born and brought up in a Christian household to Mr Aku Panmei and Ms Atanga Panmei, he is the second son of the three brothers and a youngest sister.
Coming from a musical decent, his passion for music and arts have ignited since his early elementary school days.
His Inspirations were driven from his father who is a locally well known and respected composer, songwriter and musician and his supportive mother plays a very vital role of great importance in is life.
Dr.Huruangpiyang is the first ever Naga to win the Drum-Off India and to represent the Indian nation to global competition securing top14 grand finalists,
His well decorated status includes as the recipient of International Icon Award 2024 for his exceptional contribution in Music, recipient of the prestigious Bharat Vibhushan award 2024, Global Icon Award for ‘Drums Education & Music,
TafMa Excellence Award. He received his Honorary Doctorate Award from Cambridge Digital University for Music, Honorary Doctorate Award from GHRT INDIA and countless recognition to his achievements.
Apart from his exceptional career in Music he is also a poet and a writer of short stories.
Some of his works include “Life Assurance” published in an anthology ‘Circle Of Emotions’, which talks about the cycle of life and experiences one go through. It ensure hope and good will which follows through hard times.
‘For Your Pride-A Warrior’s Honour’ published in the book ‘A Billionaire Mindset’ is a poem written as an ode for all the brave soldiers out there.
