Navi Mumbai, October 21, 2026: A shocking alleged blackmail case has come to light in Ghansoli, Navi Mumbai, where a gym operator has been arrested for allegedly extorting ₹38 lakh from his female business partner by threatening to circulate objectionable videos of her.
The accused, identified as Vivek Patil, had reportedly been in a business partnership with the woman since 2021. According to the complaint, the two were associated with a gym business in the area, during which the accused allegedly exploited their relationship and recorded objectionable videos without her consent.
Alleged Blackmail Over Objectionable Videos
According to the complaint, Patil allegedly threatened to circulate the videos and damage the woman’s reputation unless she paid him money. Fearing that the material would be made public, the woman reportedly paid him several instalments totalling ₹38 lakh.
The complainant also alleged that the accused established physical relations with her against her consent. These allegations are part of the ongoing police investigation and have not been established in court.
Woman Approaches Rabale Police
The woman allegedly continued receiving demands for money despite having paid a substantial amount. After the repeated demands became unbearable, she approached Rabale police station and filed a complaint.
Police registered a case and arrested Patil. He was subsequently produced before a court, which granted two days of police custody for further investigation.
Police Investigating Financial Transactions
Investigators are examining the alleged threats, the circumstances surrounding the recording of the videos and the financial transactions linked to the ₹38 lakh amount. Police are also seeking to establish how the videos were allegedly used to pressure the complainant.
Senior Police Inspector Balkrishna Sawant of Rabale police station confirmed the arrest and the police custody. Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
The case highlights the serious consequences of alleged digital blackmail and the importance of reporting threats involving private images or videos to the police rather than giving in to repeated demands for money.
