Mumbai | September 1, 2025 –Kandivli Land Scam : A serious land fraud case has come to light in Kandivli, where over 2.5 acres of BMC-owned land was allegedly sold using forged inheritance claims and power of attorney documents.
- The plot in question was originally surrendered by the heirs of a developer in 1978 in exchange for additional Floor Space Index (FSI) benefits. It was intended for civic amenities such as roads and a clinic.
- Despite its civic status, the land surfaced in 2002 as under claim by heirs who allegedly used falsified documents to reassert ownership.
- Recent alleged sales between 2024 and 2025 were made possible using forged paperwork, implicating individuals named Rinkesh Shah and Bhavna Shah, among others.
- Mumbai Police have now taken over the investigation, and a formal FIR has been filed under charges of cheating, forgery, and criminal conspiracy.
