A member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was taken into custody on Sunday in Delhi following a gunfight with the police close to Qutub Minar metro station.

After exchanging fire with authorities close to Qutub Minar metro station in the early hours of Sunday, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was taken into custody. Neeraj alias Katiya, the defendant, is a 30-year-old inhabitant of Haryana’s Jhajjar area, according to the police. In self-defense, the police returned fire with two shots after the accused fired two.

According to authorities, Neeraj was involved in over 25 criminal cases in Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan, including murder, attempted murder, extortion, robbery, kidnapping, injury, assault, and theft. Neeraj was found to be in possession of one.30 calibre semi-automatic weapon and two live rounds.

According to information gathered, the fugitive suspect Neeraj would visit the area of Qutub Minar metro station between the hours of 2 and 3 am on the night between Saturday and Sunday.

As a result, a trap was set close by. The police claimed that when the accused, who had arrived in an autorickshaw, got out of the three-wheeler, he was mobbed.

“After being told to stop, the suspect pulled out his gun and fired two bullets at the responding police officers. Also, the team shot two bullets in self-defense. Ultimately, the squad managed to overwhelm and disarm Neeraj “explained Kumar. He said that four empty cartridges discovered nearby and a semi-automatic weapon with two live rounds were confiscated from his hands.

In two incidents with a FIR, the perpetrator was recently identified as a proclaimed offender in Gurugram, Haryana’s Sector 10.
