Warangal: A 20-year-old engineering student committed suicide in Warangal, Telangana, purportedly as a result of a male acquaintance showing others her private images.
On February 22, the woman’s father had reported his daughter missing. The woman, who was in Chennai when she learned about the allegation, spoke with her parents and returned to her house on February 23.
The woman apparently befriended a college student who had feelings for her. The man apparently shared several private images with her other pals after the two stopped conversing because of their disagreements. Angered by this, the woman hanged herself at a relative’s home on Sunday night, according to authorities.
The parents of the deceased woman said that she took the drastic action because of the pestering.
Three people—Alokya, Rahul, and Yashwant—have been taken into custody by the police.
A first-year postgraduate medical student allegedly made an attempt on her life in December of last year at a public hospital in the Warangal district after being “harassed” by a male doctor who was her senior in the same college. She passed away on Sunday night at a government-run hospital.
In Telangana, a final-year medical student hanged himself in his dorm room last week. According to a medical college administrator, Harsha was a good student who had previously taken two final-year exams and was scheduled to take a third on Saturday.
