Downdetector data from both the US and India websites shows a sharp spike in outage reports shortly before 7:40 PM IST, with reports peaking at 628 in the US and 655 in India. The most commonly reported issue is sending messages, followed by app-related errors and receiving message failures.
According to Downdetector, 89% of users in both regions flagged problems with sending messages, 8–9% faced app-related issues, while 2–3% had trouble receiving messages or using the voice call feature. The surge in complaints indicates a widespread partial outage, although not as extensive as previous disruptions involving Meta platforms.

As of 8:00 PM IST, WhatsApp services remain partially disrupted. The issue appears to be affecting message delivery and app stability more than login or server connection. Downdetector’s outage graphs continue to show elevated complaint levels above the baseline average of 2.
