Navi Mumbai : The deceased officer has been identified as Aqib Hussain Mir, a resident, Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. He was in city to attend an offline exam for drone pilot training

On the afternoon of September 13, a 32-year-old police officer from Jammu and Kashmir tragically committed himself by jumping from a building’s 6th floor in Navi Mumbai’s Sanpada neighborhood. An official said on Saturday that preliminary investigations have shown that the officer left without alerting his police unit before traveling to Navi Mumbai to take an offline exam for drone pilot training.
Aqib Hussain Mir, a resident of Husnabad in Srinagar, has been named as the deceased officer. On September 13, he came in Mumbai after finishing an online course in drone technology. According to the official, his intention was to take an offline exam at Ellora Fiesta in Sector 11, Sanpada.
He was last spotted on the building’s 6th floor, where he jumped, at roughly 12:20 to 12:30 p.m. He was taken to NMMC Hospital in Vashi where doctors there declared him dead, according to a Navi Mumbai police official.
“The post-mortem revealed that the cause of death was the fall from a height,” he continued.
The Jammu-Kashmir police and other central agencies were swiftly alerted of the occurrence by Navi Mumbai Police, which prompted a thorough inquiry that revealed the series of events, the official said.
“It has been confirmed through the primary probe that the officer left his commissionerate without notifying senior officials. He was also allegedly under significant pressure to pass the exam, and when he encountered difficulties during the paper, he resorted to suicide,” confirmed DCP (Zone 1) Vivek Pansare.
“The body has been handed over to the family after due procedures, and we have CCTV footage and statements that corroborate the events of the day. There is absolutely no foul play,” he added.
