Mumbai was shaken early Thursday morning after a 17-year-old girl lost her life in a tragic incident at the Oberoi Square residential complex in Goregaon East.
According to officials, the Class XI student jumped from the 23rd floor of the building’s C Wing around the early hours. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but she was declared dead on arrival.
Police sources informed that this is the second such case reported at the same complex within a month. Earlier, a male student had died in a similar incident from the A Wing of the building.
Investigators are currently probing the cause of the incident. Statements from family members and friends are being recorded to understand possible reasons behind the girl’s extreme step.
Authorities have urged residents and parents to be alert for signs of distress among teenagers. They stressed the importance of mental health awareness and timely intervention in preventing such tragedies.
