Mumbai, August 16, 2025 – A tragic landslide struck the Vikhroli area of Mumbai early Saturday, resulting in two deaths and leaving two others injured. The incident occurred in the Jankalyan Society neighbourhood of Varsha Nagar, where heavy overnight rains caused loose soil and rocks to collapse onto a hutment.
Rescue operations were immediately launched by local authorities and emergency services. The injured—identified as Aarti Mishra (45) and Ruturaj Mishra (20)—have been admitted to Rajawadi Hospital, while the victims were identified as Shalu Mishra (19) and her father, Suresh Mishra (50).
