Aadujeevitham Day one box office receipts for The Goat Life: Prithviraj-Blessy’s most recent movie is off to a record-breaking start. The film made five times as much money on its first day of release as Tovino Thomas’s 2018 did.
On the first day of release, Aadujeevitham made box office history. The survival drama, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, is doing very well at the box office, with opening day sales breaking previous records. The movie made Rs 7.45 cr in India on Thursday across all languages, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
The movie’s Malayalam version brought in Rs 6.50 cr, and its Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi versions added a further Rs 1 cr to its first-day total. With one of the highest openings for a Malayalam film in India, Aadujeevitham has amassed an all-India gross collection of over Rs 9 cr (official figures are pending).
Aadujeevitham has made one of the biggest openings in Kerala in terms of nett opening day revenues. This opening is nearly twice as high as Manjummel Boys, which debuted at Rs 3.3 cr, and five times higher than Tovino Thomas’s 2018 (Rs 1.7 cr). With a global total of Rs 212 cr, Manjummel Boys is now the most grossing Malayalam movie ever.
It will be interesting to see if the movie can formally surpass Mohanlal’s Odiyan’s opening day receipts, which were reportedly close to Rs 7.10 cr nett. Worldwide receipts for Aadujeevitham on its first day are projected to be between Rs 14 and 15 cr.
Aadujeevitham is expected to have a strong opening weekend thanks to positive word-of-mouth and positive reviews. If the film’s reception holds up, the Blessy-directed production could become yet another blockbuster from the Malayalam industry, which is currently enjoying a run of successful box office releases this year.
