Yesterday marked the start of Navi Mumbai’s Metro Rail service, with Line 1 running 11.1 kilometers from Belapur to Pendhar. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs’ Urban Transport Department stated on X (previously Twitter) that”Today, 11.1 km of the new Navi Mumbai Metro Line-1 has opened for passenger service between Belapur and Pendhar in Navi Mumbai.” Millions of Mumbaikars will find travel easier as a result.”
The third city in Maharashtra where Maha Metro is working on a metro train project is Navi Mumbai.

The project saw delays because to contractor carelessness and the pandemic’s effects, even though it was originally scheduled to be completed in 2014.
In a further update, the Ministry stated, “The line could be opened for passenger service after completion of a number of pending activities after clearance from Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS).”
