The only aspect of human behaviour that has changed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic is lifestyle. The pandemic also had an impact on our eating patterns because food plays a key role in health. It has become of utmost importance to maintain good health.
When TIME8 contacted people, it was discovered that while many people have made the decision to live a healthy lifestyle by including exercise, yoga, and healthy foods in their daily routine, a significant portion of the population is still struggling to even get a meal because of the lockdown-like situation in the state and the nation.

The epidemic changed Pankaj Mahanta’s life, a former officer.

“Covid-19 has altered everything for me,” he declared. I used to be the type of person who didn’t give a damn about how I felt. Yet after the pandemic spread around the world, I drastically changed the way I ate and lived.

He added that he has begun eating foods that boost immunity and that exercising for an hour is now a regular part of his day.

Abhijit Mahanta, a dietitian, supported the widespread shift towards health.

He declared, “Healthy eating should be required for everyone, but many people used to reject the notion of leading a healthy lifestyle. All of us have changed our eating habits, either voluntarily or out of necessity, and most likely for the better

. Personally, I advise individuals to eat more home-cooked meals rather than fast food.
Also, he suggested that people consume less salt, sugar, and fatty, oily food. In a nutshell, the ideal options would be foods and beverages that maintain a high level of energy and immunity, he added.

But consuming healthy food has a cost as well. Demand in this industry has also been impacted because more people are choosing foods that are good for their health.

“We observe a significant demand for health-improving items. Dinesh Agarwal, a shop owner, said, “We need to increase the price of the products by at least some percentage if the supply is less than the anticipated demand.

Not everyone, though, was fortunate. There was a sizable population, particularly the daily wage earners, who were severely affected by the pandemic. Even the most basic nourishment was a luxury to them.

Auto-rickshaw driver Nur Hussain shared his perspective, saying, “It is hard for my family to stay healthy and fit as we don’t always manage to buy fresh groceries and eat nutritious cuisine.

My financial situation is not good, and because of the government’s partial lockout, I hardly ever get to make any money.
